Current Project:

Project Kenya

After an incredibly successful bicycle powered project in Malawi, the team are back and this time tackling conservation issues in Kenya.

The team will once again produce a short 10 minute conservation film that can be used as a tool to bring about conservation change. Working with organisations all across Kenya the team will try and come up with answers to some of the most pressing conservation issues in Kenya. The illegal Ivory trade, Lion poisoning and cultural hunting rituals.

The problems will be addressed with solutions and the film will make it clear why wildlife is so important to people in Kenya. Using a new and improved bicycle powered cinema design the film will then be shown to as many communities as possible on the borders of protected areas all across Kenya. To increase the sustainability of the project, the bicycle powered cinema will then be donated to a wildlife trust in Kenya in order to keep showing the film to unreached areas. The team also hope to get the film shown on national television in Kenya to further increase the reach of the film.

Many children don’t understand why the protected areas exist or why they should be protected. But what we're asking is how can these children even begin to imagine why conserving these animals is so important when they know so little about them? We believe showing the children their country's wildlife first-hand is the way forward and so Stand Up for Nature hopes to take as many children as possible into the protected areas to see their countries wildlife for the very first time, inspiring the younger generation!

£13,475
Raised of £25,000 target

The more donations we receive, will allow us to reach more people and take more children into the national parks. Inspiring a generation.

Please help us make this project as good as it can be. £5 will allow us to give a child the gift of seeing an African Elephant for the very first time. A day that many will remember for the rest of their lives.
